Digital Communications Officer
Salary: up to £31,400 depending in experience
Location: Fully Remote - working in a European time zone
Hours: Hours: 4 or 5 days a week. Key hours 12pm – 5pm UK time. We are always happy to explore flexible working arrangements.

ISSUP plays a vital role in the global effort to address substance use issues by fostering collaboration, disseminating evidence-based knowledge, and building the capacity of professionals in the field.
Through its online platform, conferences, and national chapters, ISSUP continues to drive advancements in substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery, ultimately making a positive impact on individuals, families, and communities affected by substance use worldwide.
As the Digital Communications Officer, you will play a crucial role in the content creation and scheduling of webinars and group meetings. Your responsibilities will include supporting all technical aspects, training, invitations, announcements, and content development. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Communications & Marketing Officer, Scientific Support, and other team members, you will actively encourage engagement from ISSUP and ICUDDR members, as well as other important stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Webinars:
- Liaise with the ISSUP team to determine content and schedule for webinars.
- Coordinate and schedule webinars and group meetings, including sending invitations and announcements to speakers and participants.
- Develop content for webinars on the ISSUP website, such as webinar flyers, event listings, and resource materials.
- Facilitate the technical hosting of webinars, ensuring smooth operations during live sessions.
- Arrange simultaneous interpretation services for webinars, when necessary.
- Upload webinar recordings and provide links to any support materials.
- Collect and respond to attendee questions during webinars.
- Edit webinar recordings to ensure high-quality content.
Training:
- Provide training to presenters to enhance their webinar delivery skills.
Support:
- Address technical support needs of webinar attendees and presenters.
Reporting:
- Track hours and activities on a weekly basis.
- Compile attendee data from each webinar and update country breakdown spreadsheets and speaker database.
- Provide data for funder reporting.
- Maintain regular communication with the Chief Executive regarding day-to-day work.
Key Deliverables:
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Annual Work Plan.
- Ensure high-quality content creation.

Person Specification:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Excellent communication, collaboration, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong planning and organisational abilities.
- The ability to negotiate and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in digital communications, preferably in the NGO/charity sector.
- Proficiency in creating engaging and relevant digital content, aligning with ISSUP's key messages and stakeholders.
- Technical proficiency in hosting online meetings and webinars, providing support to speakers and attendees.
- Exceptional coaching skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Up-to-date knowledge of content strategy, user experience, and current digital trends.
- A team player who can effectively communicate and integrate within a small team.
- Experience working with sensitive issue topics.
