Community Educator, Tobacco Cessation Program/IFPR

The Tobacco Cessation Community Educator, reports to the Assistant Director of the Tobacco Program within The Institute of Prevention and Recovery. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Participating in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the education and training for healthcare professionals within the RWJBarnabas facilities, related tobacco cessation services.
The Tobacco Cessation Educator will exhibit understanding of the tobacco cessation treatment and services. Work collaboratively with hospitals to facilitate educational initiatives. Coordinate outreach, community and hospital collaborations for quit centers services in 6 counties. Educate physicians, nurses and other medical staff regarding tobacco addiction recovery services that are available. Develop strong community partnerships and educate all partners on how to access quit center services. Work in partnership with Tobacco Treatment Specialist. Assist with creation of PSA and social media post to promote the program and quit groups.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor Degree Required
Professional Licensure or certification a plus
Knowledge of substance use disorder and tobacco addiction
Strong verbal communication skills
Dynamic speaker with strong presentation skills
Prior education/teaching related experience/skills helpful
Experience with American Society of Addiction Medicine (A.S.A.M) Preferred
Experience with Electronic Health Record and hospital service delivery Preferred
