The Millennium Nucleus for the Evaluation and Analysis of Drug Policies (nDP)(www.nucleondp.cl) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher interested in the core research area of the Center: drug policy analysis and evaluation.nDPis a research Nucleusfunded by the Millennium Science Initiative (iniciativamilenio.cl)of the National Agency for Research and Development (ANID). Our goal is to generate evidence on the design, decision-making, and implementation of drug policies and their impact on social, economic and population health. We expect to contribute to the drug policy debate in Chile and Latin America. To do this, we conduct comprehensive multimethod analyses and empirical evaluations of drug policies and policy initiatives. The nDP research areas are as follows:
1. National and international drug policies
2. Epidemiology and evaluation
3. Public opinion and policy process
The postdoctoral fellow will join a multidisciplinary team of PIs with a long-term career studying substance use and drug policy from multiple disciplines and using different methodological approaches. Our team has a strong background in public health, epidemiology, social sciences, economics, laws, and research methods, among other disciplines and research areas. The four hosting institutions of nDP are Universidad Mayor, Universidad de La Frontera, Universidad de Valparaíso, and Universidad AdolfoIbáñez.
Qualifications: We seek candidates with experience and expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis. Preference will be given to profiles with interdisciplinary backgrounds. Applicants must have been awarded a PhD(public health, epidemiology, social sciences, economics, or related fields)and have demonstrable skills in academic writing and communication in English.
Expected results: Postdoctoral fellows are expected to publish scientific articles and to support and collaborate with nDP members in research activities and funding applications. We also expect postdoctoral researchers to contribute to training and mentoring, dissemination, and outreach as part ofthenDPcommitments.Appointment: The initial appointment will be on a fixed term with subsequent reappointment based upon satisfactory performance and availability of resources.
