ISSUP Ukraine will be managed by the Institute of Psychiatry, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (http://www.univ.kiev.ua/en/) in line with its principles of mission, values and vision.
The main activities of the Institute include scientific and research activity; expert activity (in Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry); outpatient treatment of mental health disorders and addictions; training courses (for psychiatrists and addiction psychiatrists); postgraduate and doctoral training for medical doctors in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry, Family doctors; international cooperation; cooperation with the Ministry of Health, other state and non-governmental organizations involved in the protection of mental health. Recent research was dedicated to studying addiction problems among veterans and primary care patients using psychoactive substances. The Department is also involved in the organization and provision of postgraduate training courses in Addiction Psychiatry for medical doctors. Most of the specialists from the Department of Addiction Psychiatry also perform clinical work with patients who have problems related to substance use.
