Twinkle, Twinkle Arti: using storytelling to help children speak about parental alcohol or drug use

Twinkle, Twinkle Arti is a children’s picture book and story-time video to aid conversations between trusted adults and young children who experience parental alcohol or drug use.

It can be used in schools, in health and social care settings, and at home. It offers positive messages and validation, not only to children but to parents/caregivers and practitioners who find it hard to know how to broach this sensitive topic.

The project has been led by Dr Cassey Muir of Newcastle University, an expert researcher on the health and social needs of vulnerable children and families. Join us on 22 October to hear from her and learn how Twinkle, Twinkle Arti was developed and how it can be used.
