Practical Recommendations in the Treatment of Eating Disorders

Description
This presentation will discuss strategies for effectively assessing, conceptualizing, and treating co-morbid eating disorders and substance use disorders. The presentation will begin with a brief review of quantitative and qualitative assessment strategies, followed by a short discussion around case conceptualization. The majority of the presentation will focus on psychotherapeutic interventions, with an emphasis on strategies drawn from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Specific examples of the use of a diary card, chain analysis, and solution analysis will be shared in order to demonstrate the practical application of the material presented.
