The Epidemiology and Treatment of Smoking in People with Mental Health Disorders

Tobacco is the world’s leading but preventable cause of disease and death. Although cigarette smoking among adults has been steadily decreasing, rates continue to remain high amongst certain vulnerable populations. This includes individuals with mental health issues.

Dr Gemma Taylor will be delivering a talk discussing her latest research into the relationship and treatment of smoking in people with mental health disorders, with a particular focus on individuals suffering from depression.

Her most recent work has been on the development and implementation of a smoking cessation intervention for people with depression/anxiety.

This event is free and open to everyone.
