Webinar: Long Acting Injectables and Justice Involved Populations - Continuity of Mental Health and Addictions Treatment for Jail Inmates

Navigating the complexities of the fragmented criminal justice and health care systems can be challenging for providers who treat the more than 50 percent of inmates who experience mental health and/or substance use disorders. While the five-year jail recidivism rate remains steady at 75 percent, evidence-based behavioral health services are the leading intervention, improving the likelihood that inmates will successfully be reintegrated into their communities.

Providers need a solution to promote continuity of treatment for inmates experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders. One innovative and evidence-based treatment delivery modality that providers should explore is long acting injectible antipsychotic medication for those with schizophrenia (LAIs).
