Marijuana and Cannabinoids: A Neuroscience Research Summit

Marijuana and Cannabinoids: A Neuroscience Research Summit

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) hosted the Neuroscience Research Summit on Marijuana and Cannabinoids in March 2016. The Summit focused on the neurological and psychiatric effects of marijuana, other cannabinoids, and the endocannabinoid system. Presenters discussed both the adverse and the potential therapeutic effects of the cannabinoid system. The goal of the Summit was to ensure evidence-based information is available to inform practice and policy, particularly important at this time given the rapidly shifting landscape regarding the recreational and medicinal use of marijuana.
