Webinar: ISSUP South Africa – Cannabis and the Youth in South Africa
In partnership with ISSUP Global, ISSUP South Africa held this second in a series of webinars from South Africa, this one focussing upon Cannabis and youth in South Africa. The webinar was held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.
The presenter, Siphokazi Dada is a Senior Scientist in the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Research Unit of the South African Medical Research Council.
She has a Master of Public Health Degree (MPH) from the University of London. She is currently registered as a PhD student at the University of Stellenbosch and her area of interest is misuse of over-the-counter and prescription medicines, particularly codeine. She manages the South African Community Epidemiology Network on Drug Use (SACENDU), a drug trends monitoring system operational throughout South Africa’s nine provinces. She coordinates data collection across sites, analyses data and writes reports for this project. Ms Dada is also a Marie Curie Fellow on the CODEMISUSED Project funded by the European Union.
