Peer Recovery Support Series - How to Use Films in SUD Treatment

Time: 12:00-1:00pm Eastern Time

Description:

This webinar will detail the Recovery Movie Meet-ups mutual help format, and the innovative motivational enhancements it can generate in the cognitive experiential process of change for individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs). The Recovery Movie Meet-ups format involves in-group viewing and discussion of carefully chosen films featuring characters with SUDs, as well as storylines and themes about recovery. The program is centered around discussions guided by a 190-page printed workbook that features a study guide to 20 films. The workbook includes discussion questions that participants can fill out during or after meetings as further integration of lessons learned in-group and reinforcement of their recovery goals.

Presenter:

He is the author of ADDICTED in FILM: Movies We Love About the Habits We Hate and Founder/CEO of the new mutual support meeting format, Recovery Movie Meet-Ups. Perkins has lived and worked in over 50 countries, and now resides in Los Angeles.
