Family Support is for Men Too

Family Support is for Men Too

Alcohol and drug use affects the whole family, but less than 30% of people who come to Scottish Families for support for themselves are men. Talking about a problem is the first step to getting help but it can be hard to know who or what to ask when facing substance use in your family.

Our panel will bust some myths about family support and look at the wider issues around men seeking support. We will use feedback from our supporters and we welcome your thoughts and comments on how we can get better at reaching men.

This session will look at

  • What happens in family support?
  • What tools and techniques can I use to help my loved one?
  • What might be the barriers to receiving support?
  • How can we reach more men?
